Barry Island

Last Saturday, Kenneth n I decided to go for a day trip to Barry Island since we were both free. After we bought our halloween costumes(it's gonna b a surprise!! hehe), we head on to the train station and bought 2 return rail tickets.
The journey to Barry Island took us abt 20mins.
As you can see from this picture, the logo consists of ppl on a ship while 1 of them r fishing. U are correct if ur notion tells u that Barry Island is famous for its long sandy beach surrounded by the sea. However, it is not an island at all.
The beach
Before we embarked on our journey in exploring the land, we had to first fill our hungry stomachs. Hence, since we were at the seaside, kenneth concludes that the fish would be fresher and so we decided to hv fish and chips =)

This little boy is the cutest of all! Couldnt capture his face properly as i was standing next to his dad and i felt it was not very polite to take pics of ppl's children. But guess what, aft i snapped a few pics of his son, his dad called him and decided to follow suit. hehe.

One of the highlights of the place were the dogs who came along with their owners! On that day itself i saw more than 10 types of doggies! All of them were soo cute n adorable.
This one carrying a ball
This doggie is the best! He is the Hero doggie. He went into the sea to fetch a ball which was thrown by his owner. He had to swim quite far into the sea to fetch it. This dog is definitely a courageous one.

This furry soft toy just came up to me. She loves me!! I love u too doggie!
hehe that's me! too windy! My hair was flying all over the place.
After that, we went up to the hilltop to have a better view of the scenery surrounding us. It was a remarkable view! BEAU-TI-FUL!!
From here, u can catch a glimpse of the overview of Barry Island.

Some prepraring for fishing

HAHAHA this one is for u all to laugh. This is hw i look aft the i was being caressed by the wind. And abt the way i smile, it was my mum who taught me when i was young n had to take ic or passport pics. i hope i dont scare u all away! hehe

This is d reason why uk is so clean - There are civilised and responsible dog owners who bring plastic bags to dispose their dog poo. We def have to learn fr them!
How cool huh? Having your dog carrying your squash/tennis ball? hehe.
After an hour plus sightseeing, kenneth was really enthusiatic abt the adventure golf course and so we decided to give it a go!
Watch the pro play! hehehe.
See- my ball is pink! Actually kenneth asked for me one. So sweet of him rite. His one's blue.
I like the way how the mini golf course is set up. Lots of props were used.
Like how u hv to hit tru the buckets or into a hole in the treasure box and all.
The 10th hole is pretty tricky. U hv to hit straight onto the door of the ship so it'll bounce back n hopefully ends around the hole. I got in after 2 hits. hehehe keng leh! I got this good golf genes fr my father. Thanks pa! =P
HEHE. He must hv lived a very long life.
As they always say. let the best man win! SO YEAH! I WON!! =D Kenneth wanted to bluff me tat we had a tie but he couldnt hold his secret for long. hahaha.
We came bac aft 2.5 hours. Def had a great time! =)

Barry Island has been called a retirement town by some of the locals here as life here is on a slower pace. Many activities for families with young kids can be found here. There is an amusement park(which is closed down now), a mini fun fair and arcades. Seafront shops will tempt your taste buds with ice-cream, candy floss and fish and chips.
Apparently, in summer months weekends are buzzing with street theater and live music. It should be more crowded then.
