Leadership Conference

On the 22 and 23 November, I went for a Leadership Conference organised by the Malaysian Students Department of the United Kingdom. They are here to provide service with regard to the welfare and academic performance of Malaysian Students in the UK by facilitating us to develop ourselves as knowledgeable and responsible professionals for nation building.
Im really surprise how the governement takes care of the welfare of Malaysian Students - mainly, of the majority race - the malays. *dont mean to sound or encourage racism but hey that's the true fact. We have quite a number of government ppl sent over to the UK just to make sure everything runs smoothly for the malaysian students studying abroad here. However let's not focus on things that dont benefit the prosperity and the unity of the country. It's always better to be united and have a sense of oneness than have partiality which causes disruption in a community.

I didnt want to go to this Conference at first because i'm not really interested in all these kinda talks esp when it lasts for the WHOLE of 2 days!! The reason i went was because every participant will recieve a certificate and this will look good on my cv. PLUS, the next best thing is... i get FREE 3 MEALs for the 2 days of the conference. WHEEEE!!

Dinner for the first day - Egg Fried Rice, Chicken Tikka Masala & Mineral Water

Doesnt look that great here coz i didnt take it well. Anyway... it was superb until i burppp! hahaha kiddin!
Lunch for the 2nd Day : Pilaf Rice, Mugol Chicken & Mineral Water

Dinner for the 2nd day : Chicken Briyani & Mineral Water

For all those meals, I helped myself alottttT!! hehehe i had like 2 or 3 servings okie~! mmMMMMMM ate so much i felt all the lemak in my body adi. hehe. But im so happy i saved a lot of money in the weekend. Even kenneth felt the same joy! haha. A meal like that would have easily cost us 6 pounds at an indian restaurant.
Somemore we had like 2 or 3 servings... so tai okie! hehe =D
I would like to applaud the Malaysian Student Department for knowing exactly how to please us Malaysian students - GOOD FOOD! U see, if the food is bad, Malaysians will surely complain for sure. One thing all Malaysians have in common is the appetite for great food! =D yeaaahh!!

Mrs. YM Tengku Zarina is the General Manager of Maybank Berhad. The first woman holding a managerial position who's posted abroad. She is working here and brought her 3 children along while her husband is working back home in Msia. wah i really dunno hw she does it lor. Ill be so sad if im in her position. But i do really respect her husband who encourages her as she laddered to the top of her profession. How many men would do that for his woman? mmmm... sthg to think abt.
3 things i learnt from her:
1) Responsibility : A leader is not ranked by her position. Main thing is to be responsibile.
2) Energy : A leader uses her energy to energize others
She went on saying that a great servant will become a great leader.
U can always start of as being an informal leader.
3) Personal Qualities and Values :
All great leaders have their own way to lead. Most imptly, is what qualities and values u hold
in carrying out ur duty.

Very impressed with this dude because he is SO young and is already holding such a high position! Not only that, he is also cute! hehehe. ANDDD married!! haha. Saw the ring at his forth finger.
I learnt so much from this seminar, so much that i dont think i can type out everything here. Wrote down the qualities and what is expected of a leader in 3 pages. This shows if u open ur heart, u will get something out of it and that something u learnt will definitely benefit u.

I finally have a mirror in my room aft 9 weeks! hehe. thxs to xiu mei who had an extra piece. I always wanted to go to Ikea to get a full length one but had always put it behind because very lazy to take a bus to ikea. Too many stops okie!
OH N YEAH!
We had a workshop. Im in Group A and Kenneth is in Group B. Since our groups were relatively small compared with others, we were asked to combined our groups tog. Hence, guess our name!! Group AB! haha so lame. Kenneth figured out one! hehehee.
The first task was to create a fort by using straws. We all brainstromed together and created this magnificent straw fort designed to take the impact of a falling egg which will be dropped 1 metre high in the air.

The second task on the second day was to create one of the seven wonders of the world using cardboard. Ours was the pyramids. So happie! At least easier than the rest. U can also bring ur own materials and use them for this task. I brought a candle =)

But guess what..
hehehehheeh yay! See the hamper. We had lots of snacks and boxes of tit bits to bring back.
Being a winner means being humble and knowing that others can beat you anytime andso we must strive to work harder to maintain our position in this highly competitive world.
hehe and...WE ARE ALL WINNERS. yes u and me! =D
so work hard n dun giv up! =)

About Me

- Hui Ann
- We do not remember days; we remember moments. I was once told by a friend that we should do the following: To laugh often and much; to appreciate beauty, to find the best in others; and know that great things can only come with hardship because everything happens for a reason.
