PostHeaderIcon First Aid

Last friday, i attended a training course on First Aid Appointed Person. It lasted for about 7 hours! Not joking. Was so tired after that and together with the other ESF Committee, we had a Christmas Evangelistic Event organized that evening. Sometimes i think i think (repeated x2 for a purpose) i am a superlady. hehe. I always feel that it's better to do as much as i can while im still young and energetic. Back to the course, it covers the essential basics in First Aid and upon successful completion of this course, ull receive a certificate that is valid for 3 years (coz every year they might change sthg, eg this year, no more usage of liquid, antiseptic etc in d first aid kit) YAY! Something to add on my CV.

Interesting thing - The dummies are called Little Anne. (haha i said MUMMIES when i was talkin to my BFF! omg and im doing law!)

How the name came about can bring people to tears. Once upon a time, there was a young girl named Anne who was drowned and no one came to her aid. If CPR was performed, Anne would not have to die a cruel death. So, her daddy created many dummies in order to educate layman who are not doctors, but are put right on the spot to save someone's lives. The more expensive the dummy is, the more similar it'll look like his precious daughter-with hair like hers etc. (this part quite creepy)

Do you know that 40% of people die because their airway is blocked?
And it's so easy to open up their airways and put them in recovery position.

Besides CPR, now i know how to react to these situations : asthma/heart attack, low blood pressure, cuts, burns, bruises, bleeding, in shock, fainted etc. In a nutshell - im so happy i went for this course!! I gained so much.

Practise on your partner how to do a simple bandage elevation.
I put on so much weight!
Now I have a round round face. haha.
*in denial : no. no it's juz taken from a bad angle.

Met Andrew there.

hehe CIAOZ. I should be sleeping by now.
