Happy
Today was my 6th advocacy session.
The 1st to the 4th session, my feedback was that I talk too fast, so there were times that I tripped over my words and it affected my diction. Time and time again, I was constantly being told that I was OVER-reliant on notes and that I had to be more engaging with the Judge.
Last week, during my 5th advocacy submission, I successfully overcome my weakness in being too reliant over my notes. I was engaging and teacher congratulated me of my success! hehe yayyy! It really spurred me towards improving myself better and better into a top notch advocate.
Today, we were allocated time slots to enter and deliver our submission to the lecturer (who plays the Judge). You know what she said?? "You have no problem and you speak clearly and fluently. You are very confident as you laid down the facts. You engaged with me well. The only thing you have to work on is persuasiveness because that will differentiate the better advocates from the rest."
AHH! Im so happy because I know im just another step away in becoming "the better advocate". I believe that I will improve and i;m so happy to see myself progressing from the first time i spoke. To be honest, I put in a lot of effort especially when im doing advocacy or conferencing. You have no idea how many hours of practise I put in, researching and speaking as though as I am submitting my application in front of the Judge. I do this because I know Im not as good as my 'kwai lo' classmates and im very much determined to improve. Before every of these live, oral class practises, I set goals to achieve and remind myself of the constructive criticisms that have been given to me.
All in all, Jesus, thank you for the success!

About Me
- Hui Ann
- We do not remember days; we remember moments. I was once told by a friend that we should do the following: To laugh often and much; to appreciate beauty, to find the best in others; and know that great things can only come with hardship because everything happens for a reason.
