PostHeaderIcon Language barrier?

Today I learnt & WITNESSED that language is not a barrier when it comes to loving a person.

You'd never imagined that a Chinese speaking person would be able to communicate so well with a Romanian, with their own daughters acting as interpreters, to the point that tears started strolling down their cheeks when they had to say their goodbyes. The whole scenario was so heart-warming that I myself also felt like crying! So touching okie! *sniff sniff.

That Chinese speaking woman is my house mate's mum who was kind enough to cook us dinner tonight. She's such an amazing cook! I havent eaten sui kao for a year already.

We call her Ah Yee. My mandarin is quite horrible, so all I say to her are basic stuff like good morning, good night, thank you, I'm full, are you tired, etc. hehe. Anyway Ah yee said something that really touched my heart: 'You know, Ah yee came here for 3 months already. It's not the trees, environment or the beautiful scenery that  made Ah Yee so happy. What made my trip to the UK so memorable is a chance to meet all of you. You all made me realised that we Chinese people from China have to improve the way we bring up our children. We focused solely/too much on the fact that our children have to study hard and get excellent grades. But meeting all of you showed me that what is most important is to have a gentle spirit, good manners and the desire to treat each other with utmost respect. Ah Yee will go back to China and tell this to all my friends, that we have a lot to change in bringing up our children.'

Seriously, when she said that, it melted my heart again! ;) I'm really happy to have such wonderful house mates. I'll blog about them another day as it's getting late already.

Okie gonna hit the sack now! Another early day tomorrow.

We do not remember days; we remember moments. I was once told by a friend that we should do the following: To laugh often and much; to appreciate beauty, to find the best in others; and know that great things can only come with hardship because everything happens for a reason.
