PostHeaderIcon Dublin

Hiye all! This is a very very late post because this is the first week of University and I had to do lots of work and reading. It does take a lot of energy to get back on the track. But yeah, it's all good now. :)

Che, Kenneth & I went to Dublin for a 2 days 1 night stay. It was really fun!! I enjoyed every bit of it.

After putting our luggage (1 only! hehe) in our room, we went to have an early lunch at Eddie's Rocket.

A typical American Restaurant (How ironic isnt it, having American food in Ireland)

Kenneth's meal. This is so good! They fried it to it's ultimate crispyness n juicyness!

Mine : Some chicken burger (booo!)

Che's: Hot dog. (booo!)

hehe. Boo means not so nice and quite unsatisfactory - it was very so-so.

Apparently it's one of the cheapest meals u can get in Dublin. Evelyn also told me that it's even cheaper to eat in Eddie's Rockets than in McDonald's!!! =_=;:

Sorry pic quite blur coz i had to zoom in quite a lot.

hehe. After reading that sign we tipped a bit.

The picture of the shoe hung on the telephone line apparently has a hidden meaning behind it. It tells that there are 2 drug dealers in the neighbourhood as there are 2 converse-looking paper shoe hung around it. Some places has 1 and some has more. Freaky huh?

Next, we walked to Guiness Factory, a must visit in Dublin which took us abot 30 minutes. Plus it was raining! So san fu! the umbrella kept getting blown outwards and i forgot to bring my rain jacket!

There are 4 ingredients to make Guiness beer :

1) Barley
Che and Me touching barley!

2) Hops

Grown only in certain parts of the world.

3) Water

Fresh water from the mountain

4) Roasted Barley

The Plant Diesel Engine used to carry the beer or was it the raw materials. I forgot. ^_^

Then we got to taste the free sample of Guiness beer.

There's a Guiness Factory in Malaysia!! Im so proud of u!

The advertising title of Guiness is Genius! :)

Then, we got to go up to the highest floor where they call the Gravity Zero lounge which gives u 360 degrees view of Dublin. It was simply breathtaking. Amazing!

Beautiful view of the city.

3 of us and our free pint (i think it's a pint, not sure) of Guiness Beer.

Kenneth drank 3/4 of my sis and he helped me with mine.

He likes it. I think it was not bad also. But i prefer Juices over this.
OHHH Now i miss TEH SI PENG!!
I cant wait to go back to Msia!! :( I miss home.

Then, after drinking, we decided to take a break and hv some cake! hehe. It rhymes!

This cake was so yummy! chocolatey with a tinge of orange.

After that, we visited Trinity's College.

Hehe i love the 2 of u! <3>
Hee hee!

Poseee! In front of Trinity College.

We didnt go into the library that was actually quite popular. I dont know for what reason, but it didnt appeal to us much PLUS we had to pay 6 euros each to enter the library so.. haha.

After meeting Evelyn in front of Trinity College, we all headed for dinner at O'nells - A very famous Irish Pub in Dublin. On our way there, we saw this big commotion outside this shop called "Barnardo - Famous for Furs since 1812."

Evelyn told me they gather outside rioting and protesting everyday to stop the shop from selling fox's fur.

A policeman is there to make sure they don't go out of hand.

Che said these ppl are paid from non-cruelty to animals organizations to protest.

I thought that it was very good that they actually raise their voices and fight for the rights against cruelty to these poor cute little foxes. Then, Eunice told me how they de-skin the foxes, i wanna cry! Hen Ke lian r!!! Sigh, pls la.. use cow or crocodile skin also can adi mar. Why u wanna use fox's skin?? :( Pls dont buy anything that is from any cutey's animal's skin coz impliedly, u are encouraging their inhumane activity against animals.

hehe Kenneth was having good appetite that night so he ordered his second dish!

Evee!! I miss u! =D

Evelyn was so kind. She was in the midst of her exams and she actually took time off to spend with us. She's such a smart and hardworking gal- Capable in many areas. :) Im always so proud of her.

One thing good about this place is that, you can have AS MANY side dishes as u want! There are mashed potatoes, baked potatoes, Vegetables, and lots of other different dishes. I took about 4 i think. I remember Kenneth so TUM SUM and he asked for all!! hahahah

Who would like some Snaxs in the City? hehe so creative right!!
I love that chic flick btw.

We stopped by at the very famous Butlers Chocolate Cafe for a cuppa of Hot Chocolate :)

Very nice lor!

Failed attempt to cover the E.

Then, we headed to the prison! wooooo

hehe.."Im scared!"

Sniff. So sad okie when i heard the stories about the life in prison during the olden times. The prisoners are given a blanket, bible and a candle that's supposed to last them for 2 weeks. If it runs out before then, then too bad for u, you have to depend on sunlight only. Plus, they said that there are no toilets here!! watt!! So you can imagine how their health were adversely affected. Plus, the walls are so thin, they must be freezing all the time! Poor prisoners :(

The chapel.

There were many sad love stories that took place in the prison.

One that i will always remember is this : The last wish of a prisoner before being executed was to marry his girlfriend, the love of his life(I tell u they tell the story until im so touched!). And, they got married in this chapel where the only ppl present there were themselves and the priest. After that, they were given 10 minutes in the room - they were not alone, the guards were inside with them. And 2 hours after that, he was shot to death.

The newly modern constructed prison, used in many movies before such as the Italian Job.

Hidden Mickey lock! hehe

The walls are built so high up to prevent the prisoners from escaping.

A beautiful river near the Prison. :)
I love this pic as it depicts tranquility and the wonders of nature.

After that, we had our lunch and it was time to head back to Belfast.
It was truly a fun and memorable trip!

Goodbye Dublin! =D
