PostHeaderIcon Chinese New Year 2009

This is my first year spending CNY away from my family.

Mummy papa this year i cannot "Chum Cha" for you and wish you good health "san tai kin heong" & prosperity b4 collecting ang pau from you. So sad ooo...Mummy papa i miss you both so much. I really really cant wait to see you again in June!

So some of you are probably wondering how did i spent my CNY?

Here's what i did.

2 days before the 1st day of CNY, we went to church to have steamboat for dinner.

As you can see, we had lots of food!!
Eg. Wan tan, Chicken fillet, Lamb, Mushrooms, Vegetables, Udon, Eggs, Salmon & others.

Delicious wan tan!!

Some pictures taken from that night.

Rachel aka "Small P." (Small Poser) and I aka "Big P." haha.
My apprentice.

This 2 boys are one of the most loving brothers i've ever met! The little one really respects his elder brother. He calls his elder brother "kor kor" (in an ang moh accent!) hehe so cute! And then the elder one really takes care of his little bro!! So sweeeet!

Stanley & Kenneth

Then on the 1st day of CNY "Chor Yat" ...

A bunch of us went to Shanghai Nights at Bristol.

It took us roughly about 45 minutes to get there. Kenneth bought the wrong ticket and so we ended up paying 11 pounds for it when it was only 6 pounds. hehe but it's okie dear.

At least now we know which ticket to buy :)

An avant-garde, modern & oriental interior design - Just like the ones in Malaysia.

We were ALL SOOOOOO excited when we found out we can order ANYTHING from the menu.

"Anything from the menu????"

"Huh Really r.. (being Msian)????"

"ARE U SERIOUS???"

"OMG!!"

hahaha..all of went crazy with our orders ranging from appetizers to main meals and lastly, desserts!!

Me and my Siu Long Pau!! =D wheeEEE!!

Tender and juicy Ha Kaos with their appetizing friends behind, the Siu Long Paus!

Look at all the appetizers!! *salivating.. Im hungry now!!

Today, I had dinner at Cindy's place at 4pm. Her housemate cooked a whole pot of porridge so i could curi some from her. hehe. The porridge has chinese mushrooms and scallop in it!!! =D Thanks Cindy! Then after my acting practises, I went over to Lynn's place at bt 9pm to have Bak Kua!! heeee! yumyum! Lynn thxs for dinner :) This rarely happens okie! I hardly do this to my friends coz usually Kenneth or i will cook. It's an exception today because i have my acting practises at 6pm and before that i had classes.

Anyway, back to the story, we had chee cheong fun with yau char kwai, many many types of yam cakes!!! :) Sesame dough thingy (super good) and so SOOOO much more!! *Im getting really hungry now.

We also had this super delicious dish called Spicy chicken, ordered by Lay Meng. Good choice!!

This is a seafood dish with tau fu and scallop. Too bad i didnt get to taste the scallop! :(
Anyhow, it was good!

Then we also had this beef curry dish.

Kitty who doesnt eat beef actually ate it!!!
This shows that the beef was really good yeah? :)
And yes it was!

See Kitty's face when she eats it. Big BIG SMILE! hehe.

You must be thinking, is that all u ate?

We are Chinese! And Chinese ppl 'hoa sek tak!'
Means : We know how to eat good food! =D

Hiye Lobster!!
Sorry you have to die for us.

hehe.

Everyone wants to take pictures with Mr. Lobster.

But sadly, Mr Lobster failed to satiate our appetite.
As he was quite old, his meat was pretty tough.

And you know, how can we not order Mr fish when it's so expensive to have fish here? :)

Not bad. But the part i had got lots of bones so i was quite scared to eat it.
Hehe. Reminds me of the food i have in Msia :(
I wanna go homeeee.

It's not like im not enjoying myself here. I am having a great time actually :)
But i miss the life in Msia. I miss my family the most.
Mummy papa...i miss u dearly. I wish i didnt have to leave you for 2-3 years. :'(

Okie, sorry for the sappy moments.

Back to food =D

How can i miss posting this picture??

This is the Crispy Aromatic Duck. A-M-A-Z-I-N-G!!!!
We ordered this dish 4 times!!!!
You get to wrap the crispy duck with the sauce, cucumber and salary.

Janet's 'wai sik' face tells it all. haha :P
Lip Sing too busy eating adi. hehe.

Another duck dish.

Anyway we eat until we're sooooo full that we all wanna oi oi.

But we were so happy that night :)
That's what i like being Chinese. Good food & good company = Happy time!

We had lots of desserts too!
I was so full and sleepy by then that i didnt take many pictures afterwards.

We had mango dessert, sago dessert and the best one was ordered by Lay Ming:-

Banana wrapped with this crispy fried flour mee hoon thingy served with a scoop of refreshing vanilla ice cream!!!!

Electrifying!! Scrumptious to the very last bite!

Really so shiock eating it.. If i had more room in my stomach i would have definitely ordered this baby.

Then the bill arrived.

Pretty Eunice with the bill.

Wah so long hor!! haha yeah coz we ordered a lot! =D

It came down to about 16 pounds per person.
I have to say, it was worth every pence!!!

I would LOVE LOVE LOVE to go down to Bristol to eat here again.
So any of my friends here who would love to join me tell me k?
We can go to Bristol together :)
