Go Global
The International Students Department organized a whole week of events dedicated to showcase our culture. And at the end of it all, we had a "Go Global" day where most international societies participated in giving out free tit bits and samples of what their national food is like and also performing cultural and non-cultural dances, singing etc.
LIBYAN

POLAND

SAUDI ARABIA

...CASTLE...

There were other stalls such as the ones by the Japanaese and Thai Society but they didnt decorate their stall so i thought, "no point takin pics then". :P

One of my personal favorites performed by the BREAK DANCE SOCIETY!!

They changed into clown costume outfits and the they danced to the famous circus song.

I'm so bad at it! I remember trying to do this in hip hop class which i failed miserably!

She is playing the Er Hu.
Also known as the 2 strings instrument.
Gym Gym (Welsh name)
Pronounced as Dym Dym. Haha the name itself is so funny.
We all thought it was pron as Gym Gym!

Quite cute actually:)
MALAYSIA

How can i not drop by at our Malaysian Stall? :)
We had cornflake cookies & some samosa. Very yummy.
We also sold some traditional stuff like pencil cases and purses.

Then, we have the performances by the Malaysian Society!!
The President of Student Union mentioned while he was emceeing that his favourite performance of the whole week is the Festival of Diversity held by the Malaysian Society.
I am so proud to be in the Malaysian Society! YAY! Malaysia Boleh! :D
Body Percussion

Indian dance

Chinese Dance

Malay Dance

We consist of mainly Malays, Chinese, and Indians.
We danced the Indian dance. The song was entitled "Mahe veh".
While dancing to it, we saw many Indians dancing and moving about to our song. :) hehe.
We also performed our Chinese dance.
We;re not from China but yeah, we're Chinese from Malaysia.
The Indians fr India and the Chinese fr China & the rest must be thinking, Malaysians don't have their own culture but derives it from their origin mainland.
hehe. That's just from my point of view.
BTW! After we performed, the audience STOOD UP and CHEERED for us!!! OMG!!
We were the ONLY society they did so for!
I felt sooooo honoured and happy that they enjoyed our performance so much!!
On that day, I was loving it as i danced!
I would do it all over again if i could!:)
Lastly, there was a performance by the Wind Music Society.
I loved the song they played - "Miss Saigon"
Sniff. It's abt an American who was in the army.
He fell in love with a local girl while he was based in Vietnam and later he had to leave her because he was summoned to return back to America. SO SAD!!! :(

There were many other performances by the Indian Society, Asean Society (which consists of Indians) And most of them did modelling OR dancing.
Some of the gals are SO gorgeous! omg.
And some could dance really well. But there was this certain guy who was over expressive when he danced and i wanted to puke! Seriously, no offence but he looked as if he took drugs abefore that. It was WAYY WAYYY OVERLY EXPRESSIVE to the point it's quite disgusting!!
Okie that's all. I'm so tired now.
Btw i just watched Shopaholics.
It's sooo good!! I love it!!
It's not the usual chic flic u usually watch and i was definitely entertained to the very end!! :D
I didnt even finish watchin Bride Wars. I tot it was mediocre.
haha okie.
Nitenite!

About Me

- Hui Ann
- We do not remember days; we remember moments. I was once told by a friend that we should do the following: To laugh often and much; to appreciate beauty, to find the best in others; and know that great things can only come with hardship because everything happens for a reason.
