PostHeaderIcon 4 hours at Bristol

Today, Kenneth and i decided to go for a day trip to Bristol. (More like, a 4-hour trip) ;( boooo! The BVC has been physically and mentally challenging and i see Kenneth working as hard as ever-busy as a bee! But i'm so proud of him because he has been doing very well in advocacy, speaking and other oral presentations. ;)

Too bad i had to rush back because i had pro-bono training regarding NHS continuing health care and Social Services with the respective responsibilities in paying for private residential care for the elderly - those with Alzheimers, dementia etc. I learned a lot and i was really interested with today's talk by Professor Luke Clements (whose opinions from his book were actually cited in a judgment of a 2005 case. W-O-W!) And guess what! He's a professor in Cardiff University! This definitely heigtens the intensity of my sense of pride towards my law school. ^^ Not only that, Prof Gillian Douglas, the head of my law school and Prof Nigel Lowe are authors of the Family Law textbook ANDDDD the best part is that they're both teaching me family law!! Talk about double Wow!

Okie, I side tracked. haha. Today, we took a train to Bristol at 10am and we reached our destination approximately an hour later. God answered my prayers and it was sunny today! Yay so happy! I went to google the weather but then i tot, hey, why not just ask the creator to make it sunny? hehe. I think this trip was more about food than anything else since time was limited.

We decided to take advantage of the sunny weather and so we took a brisk walk to Cabot Circus, a relatively new shopping mall in Bristol. On the way, we walked past a beautiful park.

The park was surrounded by a river and buildings. Lovely, anyhow.

No wonder, another means of transportation to Cabot Circus is by ferry!! haha. So funny! I was actually contemplating whether we should give it a go but time was ticking away and we had to seize every moment we had at Bristol.

Hello Cabot Circus! :D

Nice open-air concept. Almost similar as the one in Belfast.

The toilet was really nice! I know i sound very kajun :P But i havent seen this concept where you have so many basins surrounding the perimeter of an oval object in the middle! Very clever as not only is it impressive, it saves space as well.

This restaurant/cafe is all about potatoes which i absolutely love! :D

We had wedges with chicken tikka. Kenneth added 60p for extra cheese and boy were they generous!! :D It was SOOO good. They had the thai Chilli sauce which gave it an extra zing. It's called Sang sthg. I love that chilli sauce.

Paella!! yum yum!

After that we headed to La Tasca. They had a promotion - 2 dine in for 10 pounds. We ordered 5 tapas.

The best was the meatballs. The potato bravas n chicken wing was not up to the standard i expected. It was utterly disappointing that they didnt have calamari today! The fresh aubergine grilled with garlic and cheese was alright. And the small paella wasnt that great either. However, i had an amazing company that makes up for it :)

We went separately and did our own shopping. I bought a top from New look - 14pounds! V happy! ;)

Yummy chocs from Hotel Chocolat!! :)

After an hour or so, i was feeling tired already and it was time for a boost of caffeine. This time i ordered Cappuccino instead of the regular cafe latte. I was really tempted to order a slice of cake but they were really expensive! Like 4 pounds for a slice! Eek! That;s almost equivalent to a satisfying meal already. And so, i tahan! I didnt order it.

What is more important than love and healthy relationships? :)

To me, that makes the world go round.

xx
